Highbury - N4

From an uninspiring lawn, a new design created an intimate useable space for this young couple in a period North London terrace house. We extended the old Yorkstone terrace to fit an outdoor dining table and chairs, and created a strolling path using reclaimed Yorkstone paving to the sunny rear of the garden, this enabled planting beds to disguise the depth of the garden giving the illusion of greater size. Two pleached Crab Apple trees effectively screen the block of flats beyond the garden and enclose the dining terrace from the rest of the garden. Harmonious design works when materials used are sympathetic to the property.
